Lately I’ve been telling…well, anyone who will listen…that I feel like a one-person Santa’s workshop over here! Obviously, I single-handedly design and illustrate all the products in my shop, but did you know I also hand package each order myself?
Much like how Santa’s gig is holiday-specific, December is single-handedly the reason I’m able to be a full-time artist — because of people who financially support my work by giving it as a gift to their loved ones. Holiday orders literally fund my artwork and the future of it…so again, thank you for ordering from me in The Boygirlparty shop!
Speaking of which – here are some new additions as of this morning!
I’m super excited about these Weekly Planner Notepads – based off my popular but out of print Clockwork Agenda, these notepads allow you to plan your week ahead on a flat surface, large enough to double as a mousepad but small enough to fit in a purse! Choose between green, blue, or a medley of both (available only in limited edition!)
And stocking stuffers galore! Introducing over 20 new styles of illustrated glass necklaces available exclusively in The Boygirlparty shop! Try not to get too overwhelmed by the options! My personal favorites are the arctic wolf, doxie, and pink finch — but peruse them all for yourself over in the jewelry section where tons of new designs have recently debuted– including rings, necklaces and earrings!
I actually have more to share, but I have orders to pack! Thank you again!

What a way to start the week! I’ve been shipping orders to all corners of the world and wrapping everything as a gift with care. And I am loving it, so happy to be sending my work to you!
A short + fun update — I have two new and exciting additions to the Boygirlparty shop as follows:
1. Ocean Friends buttons! Mix + match these 1″ buttons, the latest in my series, these featuring sea creatures and their somewhat displaced friends! Find them right at the top of the shop, or by clicking here.
2. More original paintings! The last few minis I added to the site sold out immediately, so I’ve added a few more. Keep an eye on the originals section of the shop – you never know when I might uncover some other works to add. Here are a few of the currently available:
All of that above is in the Boygirlparty shop! (FYI I’ve been shipping orders literally every day, so — touch wood — shipping has been lightning fast to get those holiday orders out in plenty of time!)
To pick up more original artwork by me *offline*, if you’re in the Los Angeles area, check out the post-it show opening this Saturday, Dec 7th at Giant Robot. It is always chaotic and always fun, and every post-it note in the show (of over 300 artists) is priced at $25! It’s like the black friday of the art world.
Lastly, this is what my desk is looking like these days as I send all these things out to you. Thank you so much for supporting an artist like me with your gift giving (and treating yourself, etc!) It quite literally funds my creative output, and I thank you for it!
November 21st, 2013
Join me tomorrow, Friday, November 22nd at Barnes & Noble in Mira Mesa (10775 Westview Parkway, San Diego, CA) for #discoveryfriday – a day packed with author events and giveaways. At 5pm, I’ll be leading a craft workshop for kids and signing copies of my picture book What Will Hatch?
Also, unrelated, I just added 3 new miniature paintings to the shop — find them under the paintings section of the shop where they’re drastically reduced in price to make for quick sale.
Hope to see you tomorrow in Mira Mesa, if you’re in the area! Otherwise, online. Always online.

It’s that time of year again! Holiday orders and I’m painting on post-it notes for the Post-It Show at Giant Robot in LA. Dare I say this is my favorite time of year? It so is! Particuarly the holiday orders part.
Something about people bringing little bits of my artwork into their home for daily use or as a gift to a loved one just makes me happy. It makes me feel grateful, feeling that I’m on the right path in life, feeling appreciated in this world for the artwork I put out there.
I guarantee you that every small business feels this way about their customers, so whether or not you shop with me this holiday, shop small. There’s meaning in making a person feel they’re doing something right with their creativity and their life, and every transaction with a small business accomplishes that for the artist behind it.
By the way, the Giant Robot Post It Show is December 7th, curated by Esther Pearl Watson and Mark Todd, and runs for only one week! 2062 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. Here’s more info!
And I have some old post-its from past years somewhere, so if you’re interested, drop me a line at susie *at* boygirlparty.com!
