I cross my fingers every year that people will make gifts of my artwork for the holidays from my shop, however, I thought it would also be good to share some “boygirlparty elsewhere” in case you spot these items out and about! Artwork from Work and Non Work and some other stuff

November 23rd, 2012

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the opening to my latest art show, “Work and Non-Work” at Giant Robot’s GR2 in Los Angeles. Extra thanks for Ryan at Delve Clothing who printed limited edition t-shirts in the rain!

Artwork from the art show is available online, and the show is on view at 2062 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025 until December 5th. Hope you can see it in person — there’s a wrap around mural and t-shirts that can only be purchased on site!

Meanwhile, my online shop is ready for holiday orders, and now offers a host of new to do lists, memo pads and stationery, added just today! See images and previews below, or just head on over! Also, I have been getting flooded with emails asking about a 2013 Susie Ghahremani Agenda, but Chronicle has decided not to continue printing it. If you’re a publisher and you’re out there and you’d like to make this thing together, please drop me a line!

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for reading!

Giant Robot presents “Work and Non-Work” an exhibition by Susie Ghahremani

Giant Robot presents “Work and Non-Work” an exhibition by Susie Ghahremani

Reception Saturday, November 17, 2012: 6:30 – 10pm

Show dates Nov. 17 – Dec. 5, 2012

Free to attend, all ages.

Giant Robot presents the eighth solo show by award-winning artist and illustrator Susie Ghahremani. This exhibition, “Work and Non Work” (the title borrowed from an album by Broadcast), “emphasizes the experimentation and play of my miniature paintings and drawings juxtaposed against my framed commercial works.” No matter the final output, her body of work echoes her distinctly illustrated hybrid of nature, animals, music and patterns.

Susie Ghahremani is a 2002 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. She has a tiny paintbrush and a steady hand which she uses to create miniature works rendered in astounding detail. In addition to illustrating for commercial and editorial clients such as Chronicle Books, Bloomsbury USA, Bank of America, Target, T-Mobile, and The New York Times, she crafts and develops her own line of stationery and gift items under pseudonym Boygirlparty®.

Ghahremani has been the recipient of awards and recognition by American Illustration, Alt*Pick, Giant Robot’s artist of the year and Venus Magazine’s Best DIY business. She exhibits her paintings internationally and is anticipating the release of her first picture book, What Will Hatch? written by Jennifer Ward.  She lives in nearby San Diego, California with her husband and zillions of pets.

An opening reception for Susie Ghahremani will take place from 6:30 – 10:00 PM on Saturday, November 17th.

During the reception, there will be live silkscreening of a t-shirt design by Susie Ghahremani exclusively sold in limited edition at this show at Giant Robot.

Thank you, Portland!

August 13th, 2012

Many thanks to those who attended the opening for Clear Skies and Cloudy Days last Friday in Portland, OR! The show runs through September 2nd, 2012 at Land, 3925 N. Mississippi Ave, Portland. This show would not have been possible without the generosity and kindness of Janice Headley and Pat & Amber Castaldo who helped me pull together the installation of over 140 works of art, cross-stitch & a mural.

The work from Clear Skies and Cloudy Days is now available for view and purchase online at this link: http://www.buyolympia.com/q/Artist=Susie+Ghahremani

All paintings and x-stitch are one of a kind originals.

There are a couple other limited edition pieces (and cross-stitch kits) available in person only, so please swing by the gallery and check out the show in person if you’re in Portland!

Thank you also to the following folks for sharing info, interviews, announcements and previews of the show:
Luc Latulippe / Drawn
Amy at Pikaland
