Thank you to all who joined me at the opening of The Wild Life at GR2 this past Saturday! There were some seriously amazing haikus, and I loved meeting and talking to everyone. Thank you for making it an incredible opening.
The show runs through September 17th & artwork is now available for view and purchase online on the GR2 website.
For purchase of hanging ornaments (the components of the installation) you’ll have to contact GR2 directly or visit the show in person.

Lastly, Chronicle Books “Musical Notes”: a gift box of 18 musical greeting cards illustrated by me, are now available in the shop…enjoy!

Just one week away: come join me at the opening reception for “THE WILD LIFE”: a solo art show by me (Susie Ghahremani) at Giant Robot in Los Angeles, CA (2062 Sawtelle Blvd) featuring over 100 miniature paintings, an elaborate handcrafted installation, and a haiku contest! Yes, a haiku contest — you’re invited to write a haiku (5 / 7 / 5!) based on any painting in the show. The top three haikus will win super fun prize packages sponsored by Giant Robot.
The show runs from August 16 – September 17th, 2008. And please, tell your LA friends because the post office put a hex on our postcards and i’m pretty upset about that.

Other newness around here:
New in the shop: the Treetops Journal! Illustrated by me, published by Chronicle Books, the journal features 192 pages of full color interior featuring trees, birds, twigs, owls and general treetoppiness. Check it out here & look for more collaborations between me and Chronicle Books shortly!
Bank of America commercials — I had the super fun experience of illustrating sets for this series of commercials for college students — it was pretty surreal and an amazing experience. Check them out!
Phew, ok. Hope to see you at the Wild Life in LA — I’ll be there for the reception, Saturday, August 16th from 6:30 pm – 10pm. Art, installation, haikus, prizes, Red Vines… should be lots of fun. Come by and say hi!
