Where
am I? What's "boygirlparty"?
boygirlparty.com
is the website of Susie Ghahremani a.k.a. me.
Here you'll find my art/illustrations,
music,
and handmade/limited edition products and more. Seriously, this site never seems to end.
A
"boygirlparty", besides being the name of my business
and sometimes pseudonym, is the first party you go to as an adolescent
that has all sorts of kids at it (girls and boys) that you're not
used to playing with, It's exciting and strange. Maybe you play
spin-the-bottle. The term, to me, is loaded with child-like wonderment
and energy.
Also, boygirlparty is one word. It just is.

you from?
Professionally,
I've been illustrating

What
is Snoozer? How long have you been playing music?
Snoozer
is my (mostly) solo music project. I play shows from time to time.
I've
been playing music as long as I can remember, I classically
trained on the piano as a kid; I've long since forgotten it
all. |

Can you give some tips to a new illustrator/designer?
I
gave all the tips I could in the 2007 edition of "The
Artists and Graphic Designers Market"; I also recommend
the philosophically nurturing "How to be a graphic designer
without losing your soul" by Adrian Shaughnessy; the business-oriented
The Graphic Artist's Guild
"Pricing and Ethical Guidelines" offers forms and pricing samples
for all kinds of illustration and design projects; and for crafters,
Meg Mateo Ilasco's "Craft
Inc" is an excellent resource on how to get started with
your handmade business providing not only inspiration but also
a lot of practical advice.
All
these people put everything into words so much better than I
ever could, and for anyone serious about a career in art, this
is easy and engaging reading!!
